As new parents, it can be very difficult to know what a crying baby needs in the early days. If you think your baby has colic, take them to your doctor who will be able to make a diagnosis and offer further advice on managing the condition. It is also important to see your doctor so they can rule out any other potential illnesses that affect babies and cause them to cry a lot.

If your baby is diagnosed with colic, it is important to keep a close eye on any further development in their symptoms. For example, if your baby’s cry changes at any stage and becomes weaker, or higher in pitch, this may be a sign that something else is wrong. Contact your family doctor immediately if you think your baby is more seriously ill.
