When should I worry about my child’s headache?

Answered on 11th January 2016
Fortunately, the large majority of headaches in children are not a symptom of serious disease or underlying physical problems.
Headaches and migraines in children should not last for a prolonged period of time. Headaches that get worse over time and occur together could be a symptom of something more serious, particularly if accompanied by a loss of vision, muscle weakness and speech difficulties. If your child has had a persistent headache, or painkillers have not worked and their headaches or migraines are occurring on a regular basis, it is important to take your child to your family doctor for further examination.
